I PUT THE WRONG SHIPPING ADDRESS, OR MADE A MISTAKE ON MY ORDER, CAN YOU CHANGE IT?
If you receive an order confirmation email and notice a mistake with the order, please send an email to thewanderingwheelsstudio@gmail.com or send us a private message on Instagram (the.wandering.wheels). CAN I RETURN OR EXCHANGE MY JEWELRY?
We put a lot of thought and effort into producing quality handmade jewelry. During shop updates, there can be several people wanting to buy the same item, so please purchase carefully. We know buying jewelry online can be difficult since you can't try it on yourself, but we take as many precautions as we can to make the process delightful. Jewelry measurements are listed in the description and you will find photos of the jewelry being worn within the listing as well. This is to insure that you know exactly what you will be getting in the mail. Please do not purchase an item without fully reading the description and looking at photos.
Refunds will NOT be given if you purchase without reading the description or looking at photos. We are happy to answer any questions BEFORE you click that "purchase" button over email or social media.
Please send any questions to our email: thewanderingwheelsstudio@gmail.com
or send us a private message on Instagram (the.wandering.wheels).
DO YOU TAKE CUSTOM ORDERS?
Unfortunately no. At the moment we are not able to take custom designs. Please send us an email or message on Instagram to ask about having a similar piece made to one that is currently sold out.
CAN YOU RESIZE A RING?
We do not offer resizing on rings at this time. Please contact us via email or Instgram message to ask if we could make a similar ring in your size. Please send any questions to our email: thewanderingwheelsstudio@gmail.com or send us a private message on Instagram (the.wandering.wheels).
HOW DO I CLEAN MY JEWELRY?
For a simple cleaning at home, we recommend mixing Dawn dish soap in warm water, soaking your ring or other jewelry for five minutes, and using a soft bristled baby toothbrush to gently clean around settings. Air dry, then finish with a polishing cloth/pad. We do not recommend chemical jewelry cleaners because they can damage certain stones. For a more thorough cleaning, please contact us. With normal wear and tear, silver jewelry needs a deep clean every so often to remove tarnish and surface scratches. You can send your jewelry to us or another professional jeweler to have it thoroughly cleaned.
I BROKE MY JEWELRY. WHAT DO I DO?
We understand this happens sometimes. We are happy to fix your jewelry depending on the circumstance. If it's our fault, we'll fix it, or make you something similar if it was a one-of-a-kind piece, free of charge.
It's best to treat your jewelry with care and respect, but we understand that accidents do happen! If you broke your jewelry by being hard on it, please contact us and we can talk further about getting it fixed up or getting a similar piece made.
WHAT IS .925 SILVER?
Sterling silver is made from 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent alloy. An alloy is essentially the mixture of two (or more) elements taken from the periodic table. Regarding sterling silver, the alloys can include zinc, copper or nickel. The alloy elements make the silver stronger and longer lasting. Without them, silver is a soft metal, and cannot endure daily wear and tear very well.
WHY DOES SILVER TURN MY SKIN GREEN?
The real reason behind the development of a green tint on your skin lies in the jewelry's metal composition. Just because your fingers turn green while wearing a silver ring does not mean that the ring is fake silver or low quality. This is actually a myth!
Since pure silver is very soft, jewelry made from silver needs to be alloyed, or blended, with another type of metal, which is most commonly copper. Enter, .925 sterling silver. The composition is 92.5% pure silver which has been alloyed with 7.5% copper or copper blend. The mix with copper provides the durability and workability necessary to create jewelry. While the copper is a vital part of the creation process, it can result in a green colored film on your fingers or skin, while some people don't react to it at all. There are many reasons that people react differently to copper, including:
- the varying content of chemicals in the skin,
- the composition and severity of sweating,
- the products and creams one uses.
- humidity and body acidity
Green fingers are nothing to worry about! Soap and water, or rubbing alcohol will remove any stain left from jewelry. In general, keeping your sterling silver jewelry dry is the best policy. Be sure to take your rings off when doing things that involve strong heat and sunlight, harsh chemicals, water, and sweat. If you are a sufferer of green fingers, you can apply a thin layer of clear nail polish to the inside of the band to stop your skin from reacting to the metal.
If you are concerned about sterling silver ear wires on earrings, please let me know and I can swap them out for surgical steel ear wires which do not contain copper.
